The chickpea (Cicer arietinum) is a legume of the family Fabaceae. It is commonly consumed in the Middle East. This product is used in a vast array of dishes, such as hummus and falafal, and flour is also made from it. The seeds have a smooth and round appearance combined with a light nutty flavor.
The chickpea has a positive impact on the soil as no fertilizer are required for growth. After harvesting, the seeds have to be thoroughly dried before storage in order to remain long-term quality
